Take one part UW Medicine, one part National Nutrition Month and one part NCAA March Madness, and what do you get? Veggie Madness, an interactive tournament of fiber featuring fictional vegetable face-offs and practical tips about nutrition and healthy eating.
This campaign promotes primary care and aims to help people make healthier food choices, while also positioning our providers as experts in health and wellness.
Veggie Madness begins March 11 when the veggie players are announced and you can fill out your bracket. The head-to-head (er, stem-to-stem) competition among leafy greens, legumes, roots and wild cards kicks off March 18, and the winner will be crowned on April 1. Along the way, UW Medicine experts will share their nutrition and wellness advice, from why diets don’t work to how to boost fertility through food.
The entire community is invited to play along during this produce-packed tournament. Is sweet potato going to yam dunk on opponents, or will garbanzo roll over the competition? Only thyme will tell.
