UW Medical Center is one of the 250 best hospitals in the world, according to Newsweek’s recently released rankings of global hospitals: World’s Best Hospitals 2024. UW Medical Center is Washington state’s highest-ranked hospital on the list.

“Our Newsweek ranking highlights the exceptional work of our teams across UW Medical Center,” says Cindy Hecker, CEO of UW Medical Center. “Being recognized as a World’s Best Hospital reflects our commitment to providing high-quality patient care.”

Newsweek and its data partner Statistica considered 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries for this recognition. Each hospital’s score is based on an online survey of more than 85,000 medical experts and public data from post-hospitalization patient surveys on their general satisfaction. The score also considers metrics such as hygiene, patient/doctor ratio and patient-reported outcomes.

In October, UW Medical Center was also named the No. 1 Best-In-State Hospital by Newsweek.
