Stuart Weinstein, MD, clinical professor and senior provider at the Sports Medicine and Spine Centers at Harborview Medical Center and the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, is the new incoming president of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R).
Weinstein’s presidency is the culmination of over 25 years of service within AAPM&R, highlighted by serving as the Physiatric Association of Sports, Spine, and Occupational Rehabilitation (PASSOR) president in 2005; as founding editor-in-chief of PM&R (the official scientific journal of AAPM&R) from 2008 through 2018; and entering the AAPM&R Board of Governors presidential line in 2018. Along the way, Weinstein has chaired various influential AAPM&R committees, most recently serving as the AAPM&R BOLD steering committee chair, leading the transformation of physiatry in the future.
