Michael Regnier, PhD, has been appointed interim chair of the Department of Bioengineering, effective July 1, 2020. He will be taking over for former chair Cecilia Giachelli, PhD.
Regnier has served as vice chair of academics and associate chair for research. He is the Washington Research Foundation Endowed Professor of Bioengineering, an adjunct professor of Physiology and Biophysics and the director of the UW Center for Translational Muscle Research.
Regnier is also a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, an established investigator of the American Heart Association and a fellow of the UW Presidential Entrepreneurial Faculty.
