UW Medicine and Valley Medical Center have a shared mission to care for and improve the health of the communities we serve. We have had a strategic alliance since 2011 and have valued this partnership.

Moving forward, as the needs of both organizations evolve, we have decided not to continue this current form of relationship but will continue to collaborate in a number of ways.

UW Medicine remains committed to serving the residents of South King County. As the only Level I Trauma Center in the region and a primary provider of tertiary and quaternary care for specialized and complex needs, UW Medicine will continue to offer comprehensive healthcare to our valued patients.

We will continue to offer outpatient services to South King County patients through our primary care clinics in Federal Way and Kent/Des Moines, and our urgent care clinic in Federal Way.  UW Medicine is also looking forward to further expanding access and services for patients in South King County, and to working with new and existing partners.

We are grateful to our colleagues at Valley and know that, while our relationship has evolved, both organizations will continue to work to support our common mission.

Sincerely,
