White Anti-Racism Group Introduction Session and Registration

January 23 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

The White Anti-Racism Group, led by the Office of Healthcare Equity, starts its Winter/Spring Session on Jan. 23, 3:30-5:00 p.m. The purpose of this session is to introduce the group and facilitators and answer any questions you might have. There are four sessions to follow the introduction that fall on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 3:30–5:00 p.m. (Feb. 27, March 26, April 23, and May 28).

Register for the Winter/Spring 2024 sessions.

In these sessions, you can expect to:

  • Cultivate connections in the service of moving the UW Medicine community towards an anti-racist identity and practices.
  • Stay informed and responsive to the ongoing needs of our BIPOC colleagues within the UW Medicine system.
  • Learn about important topics related to anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Make personal behavior change commitments with action-oriented colleagues.
  • Improve capacity to talk directly and authentically about racism and oppression in support of BIPOC colleagues.

The White Anti-Racism Group originated as part of a series of caucuses in response to the killing of George Floyd in the Summer of 2020. The current group is a structured and ongoing peer-led effort to help our community better understand anti-racism and support each other in becoming more anti-racist without having to burden non-white colleagues for this support.
