UW Medicine launched the Bias Reporting Tool in early 2021 to provide our community with a new way to report incidents of bias. Since then, over 600 events have been reported.

First Annual Community Report

The The Bias Incident Response Team outlined the first year of using the tool in the First Annual Community Report.

The purpose of sharing the statistics of these de-identified events is to raise awareness of the types and breadth of events we are seeing in our community; to describe patterns of biased behavior some people experience; and to identify areas for investment in further work, training needs, and policy and process changes.

The Bias Incident Response team releases annual reports to start discussions about what the learnings and the work that needs to be done in our community.

Your feedback is requested

The tool will continue to be refined over time using community feedback and experience.

  • If you used the tool to report a bias incident, please provide feedback on your experience here.
  • If you have not reported, but want to share your thoughts, please do so here.
