Last week, the Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) was called upon to assist in managing the intake process for researchers in need of COVID-19 biospecimens or proposing related clinical research. The result was the creation of the  ITHS COVID-19 Research Portal, which will review and prioritize all applications through the UW/ITHS COVID-19 Research Review Working Group, a committed group of senior leaders and scientific experts across diverse disciplines that review all proposals.

ITHS is proud to help physicians and scientists at UW and all across the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho region to accelerate research that will help resolve the COVID-19 pandemic.

ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources

The ITHS COVID-19 Research Resources is a new landing page that will host all ITHS resources related to COVID-19.

UW COVID-19 Clinical Research

In an effort to compile and track all the active clinical research related to COVID-19 at UW, ITHS created a UW COVID-19 Clinical Research webpage. This webpage will host a list of current COVID-19 research projects with information valuable to interested scientists and participants. This list will be updated as more trials become available.

ITHS COVID-19 Research Awards

ITHS is committed to supporting investigators focusing on COVID-19 research. For this reason, they are expediting eight $2,500 ITHS COVID-19 Research Awards. These awards are designed to provide funding and/or resources to investigators who have an urgent need and can demonstrate the difference or impact this award will have on their research. This funding can be applied toward the purchase of supplies or toward core, in-kind services provided by ITHS. Applications will open on March 30, 2020, and close on April 13, 2020.

ITHS hopes that these research resources will help expedite a solution and make a difference during this crucial race to stop the COVID-19 pandemic.
