Several UW Medicine service awards formally recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of employees who go above and beyond to support patients, colleagues, and our community. Help us honor their dedication by nominating someone today.  

Cares Awards:  

  • What: This award recognizes individuals and teams who consistently exemplify commitment to UW Medicine Service Culture Guidelines.  
  • Who: Clinicians, staff members and small teams from Airlift Northwest, Family Practice Plan Services, Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, UW Medicine Primary Care and Shared Services.  
  • When: Spring and Fall
  • Nominate for the Spring award by Mar. 14, 2025. 

DAISY Awards:  

  • What: The DAISY Award is an international recognition program, founded in honor of former UW Medical Center patient J. Patrick Barnes, to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families and co-workers. 
  • Who: Licensed, registered nurses, nursing faculty and nursing students from Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center and UW Medicine Primary Care. 
  • When: Rolling with honorees selected quarterly.* 
  • Nominate a nurse today. 

 ROSE Awards:  

  • What: The ROSE Award was established to honor the incredible work that is performed every day by all our dedicated UW Medicine teams. 
  • Who: All staff who interact with patients (except nurses who should be nominated for the DAISY award) from Harborview Medical Center and UW Medical Center. 
  • When: Rolling with honorees selected quarterly.
  • Nominate a team member today.
