Over the past several weeks we have seen a steady increase in the number of COVID-19 patients in our health system and more than a doubling of COVID-19 positive patients in the last month. This increase coincides with the rising number of cases in the community and throughout the state. In light of this negative trend, and to continue to protect and preserve our workforce and best serve our patients and the community, UW Medicine leadership has decided that the current work-related travel restrictions will remain in effect until further notice. This includes all travel for conferences and meetings related to professional membership societies/associations or gatherings related to grants.
Additionally, we encourage you to continue avoiding any personal travel outside of the Puget Sound region and to review applicable travel warnings and in-country restrictions for any intended destination.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation to determine any future changes in UW Medicine’s work-related travel policy.
Thank you for all you are doing to keep our patients, staff and community safe.
