Just 24 hospitals across the country made the WebMD Elite Choice list, and UW Medical Center and Fred Hutch Cancer Center were among the top tier.
The WebMD Elite Award is given to health systems that patients and physicians prefer 2 to 1 over local competitors for a specialty. UW Medical Center received the Elite Choice recognition in four specialties: cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology and orthopedics. Fred Hutch, an independent organization that serves as UW Medicine’s cancer program, received the Elite Choice recognition for oncology.
UW Medical Center was also recognized in oncology with the WebMD Patient Choice Award and Medscape Provider Choice Award.
The WebMD Choice Awards are the only healthcare recognition awards based only on the votes of patients and providers within the last year. The annual list helps people find top-ranked healthcare services and compare health systems based on specialties and treatments.
