The Accessible Design and Innovation Inclusion Project (ADII), Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER), Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, received a $25,000 grant from the King County Office of Equity and Social Justice. The grant has been awarded to increase engagement and information sharing to communities affected by COVID-19 by providing service hours to support public agencies and community-based organizations.

Project goals include the following:

  • Increase information sharing on public health issues with limited-English speaking communities, including people who communicate by American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Provide information and answer questions about the outbreak in communities of color, Native communities, limited English speaking communities and communities located near isolation, quarantine and recovery sites.
  • Keep individuals, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations and business informed during this public health emergency.

The anticipated completion date for the funded project is December 30, 2020.
