Cheers to our colleagues as they start new roles at UW Medicine and as they move on to new chapters in their careers or retirement.

Here’s who was on the move in May:

Tracy Jirikowic, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, professor and program co-director in Rehabilitation Science, became the program director of Occupational Therapy and associate chair in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine on May 1, 2021. Jirikowic has been the interim director for the Division of Occupational Therapy since September 2020. In her new role, she will provide leadership for all programs and personnel in the Division of Occupational Therapy.

Laura Johnstone, PT, MPT, PhD, acting instructor, became the associate director of Physical Therapy on May 1, 2021. Johnstone has been a faculty member with the department since 2009. As the associate director, she will work with the director to facilitate and support educational programs within the Division of Physical Therapy.

Ellen McGough, PT, PhD, associate professor and associate director in the Division of Physical Therapy, has accepted a position with the University of Rhode Island as Physical Therapy Department chair and program director. McGough has been with the department since August 1990.

Marisa Osorio, DO, associate professor, became the division chief of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at Seattle Children’s on May 1, 2021. Osorio served as an interim director of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine for the past two years. In her new role, she will provide leadership for all programs and personnel in the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
