Cheers to our colleagues as they start new roles at UW Medicine and as they move on to new chapters in their careers or retirement.

Here’s who is on the move:

Trish Kritek

Trish Kritek, MD, EdM, started a new administrative role on March 16, 2022, serving as vice dean for faculty affairs in the University of Washington School of Medicine. In this new role, Kritek will work collaboratively with the executive vice dean for clinical affairs and other vice deans of the medical school to further align and integrate our clinical, research, education and EDI activities. Elizabeth Nance

Elizabeth Nance, PhD, has joined UW Bioengineering’s core faculty as an associate professor. She’s held an adjunct position in the department since joining the UW Department of Chemical Engineering in 2015. Her research lies at the intersection of engineering, neurosciences, data sciences and translational medicine, and is focused on addressing brain disease. Ayokunle Olanrewaju

Ayokunle (Ayo) Olanrewaju, PhD, has been named assistant professor of UW mechanical engineering and of bioengineering. His research focuses on treating infectious and chronic diseases, such as HIV, tuberculosis and cancer, by developing technologies for use at point-of-care in a doctor’s office, patient’s home or field site to monitor and improve drug therapies, detect infection and advance precision medicine. Bessie Young

Bessie Young, MD, MPH, started a new administrative role on March 16, 2022, serving as vice dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the University of Washington School of Medicine. In this new role, Young will work collaboratively with the executive vice dean for clinical affairs and other vice deans of the medical school to further align and integrate our clinical, research, education and EDI activities.
