While we continue to see a low number of COVID-19 patients in our health system, we are also seeing a rising number of cases in the community due to the loosening of restrictions by the state. In light of this trend, and to continue to protect and preserve our workforce and best serve our patients and the community, UW Medicine leadership has decided to extend the current work-related travel restrictions for all employees through July 31, 2020. This includes all travel for conferences and meetings related to professional membership societies/associations or gatherings related to grants.

Additionally, we encourage you to avoid any personal travel outside of the Puget Sound region through July 31, 2020, and to review applicable travel warnings and in-country restrictions for any intended destination.

We will continue to monitor the number of COVID-19 positive patients in our health system and in our region and the impact that the loosening of restrictions in our communities is having to determine any future changes in UW Medicine’s work-related travel policy.

Thank you for all you are doing to keep our patients, staff and community safe.
