UW Medicine Diabetes Institute and Irl Hirsch, MD, professor of Medicine and Chair of Diabetes Treatment and Teaching, received an art piece by Jaserah Chowdhury, a high school student in Texas. Chowdhury created the piece as a commentary on the inflated cost of healthcare, and specifically insulin, in the U.S. and how it impacts those who rely on insulin to keep them alive.
