The Institute on Human Development and Disability is officially a UW Medicine Department of Pediatrics division.

“I am thrilled to welcome the Institute in Human Development and Disability into the Department of Pediatrics,” says Leslie Walker-Harding, MD, chair of the Department of Pediatrics. “We have long partnered with IHDD, but now, with the institute housed in the department, I look forward to expanding our relationship and increasing what is possible when caring for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

The Institute is committed to advancing research, providing clinical care and delivering education and training for faculty, residents and fellows in pediatrics, developmental pediatrics, neonatology and other disciplines.

“This collaboration strengthens our ability to support pediatric care and allows us to work more closely with pediatric professionals to improve the care provided to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says Sunny Juul, MD, PhD, director of the UW Institute on Human Development and Disability.
