The UW Medicine Equity, Diversity and Inclusion survey conducted by the Office of Healthcare Equity is now open (check your email for link and instructions).
The survey is designed to identify baseline measures of equity, diversity and inclusion across UW Medicine and provide actionable data to help prioritize areas for work at the entity and departmental levels. UW Medicine is committed to improving the well-being and professional fulfillment of our healthcare professionals. This survey is the first step in a robust improvement cycle involving all UW Medicine employees located at all entities across the system.
“It’s critical that we hear from everyone in this important survey,” says Leo Morales, MD, PhD, associate dean, Office of Healthcare Equity. “We often fail to hear from marginalized individuals whose voices are essential as we strive to become more anti-racist. It will enable us to better understand how personal identities such as race, ethnicity, sex, gender and disability shape employee experiences at UW Medicine. We need to understand this so that we can hold ourselves accountable for improving as equity work is a key part of our mission here at UW Medicine.”
Tim Dellit, MD, interim CEO of UW Medicine, and Paula Houston, EdD, chief equity officer of UW Medicine, share their thoughts on the importance of this new survey in a video message.
