Dr. George Laramore is the recipient of the 2019 National Association for Proton Therapy Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes Dr. George Laramorepioneers in the field of particle therapy who have brought honor and distinction to the field.

A UW School of Medicine professor of radiation oncology and neurological surgery, Dr. Laramore is one of the leading academicians in all of radiation oncology and also a world expert in the radiotherapeutic management of head and neck cancers. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed papers and a definitive textbook entitled Radiotherapy of Head and Neck Cancer.

Dr. Laramore  was also instrumental in bringing proton beam therapy to the Pacific Northwest and served as the founding medical director of the SCCA proton center.
