Dr. Jarvik holds the Arno G. Motulsky Endowed Chair in Medicine. She is a Pew Scholar in the Biomedical Sciences and a Lifetime National Associate of the National Academies. In addition to leading the Division of Medical Genetics, she is a practicing clinician in internal medicine and medical genetics. Her research is focused on the genetic basis of complexly inherited genetic disease and biomedical ethics.

The Society’s nearly 8,000 members include researchers, academicians, clinicians, laboratory practice professionals, genetic counselors, nurses and others who have a special interest in the field of human genetics.
