The UW Center on Human Development and Disability was upgraded to the Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD) last year with a new website that launched in June 2023. Founded in 1963, the IHDD is one of the few centers in the U.S. composed of three major federally funded core programs, a Eunice Kennedy Shriver Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), and the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND).
