The Patient Safety Innovations Program (PSIP) recognizes and empowers clinicians and researchers to collaborate and explore solutions with grants for pilot projects addressing patient safety and quality of care.
Clinicians and researchers with innovative pilot projects in mind are encouraged to apply for a grant. Projects must be led by a UW-employed faculty member whose UW Medicine component contributed to the UW Self-Insurance Revolving Fund. The Patient Safety Innovations Program will fund two 18-month-long projects that address one or more of the following priority areas: improving diagnosis and reducing diagnostic delays, improving communication and fall prevention.
Grant winners will receive one-time $50,000 pilot project funding, ongoing technical assistance and academic support, and access to clinical leaders who can help their project succeed.
Applications are due by Feb. 28, 2020, at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. For additional questions, please contact PSIP staff at psip@uw.edu or visit the PSIP website for more details and examples of previously funded projects.
